Favourite products of the month from fashion designers turned homeware designers

May 22, 2022

There are many leading fashion designers channelling their creative talent towards the design and production of homeware and broader lifestyle collections. It makes sense - they've established themselves as the world's icons of style so who wouldn't want to bring luxury and high-end design into their home too? Often the homewares are produced at much more attainable prices than the fashion ranges. Nowadays, you can even get your takeaway coffee in a cup designed by fashionistas such as Camilla and Marc pictured.

We've picked out some of our favourite products on the market that are designed by very multi-talented local and overseas designers. Take a read:Vittoria CoffeeAustralian family owned business Vittoria Coffee is proving the value of taking a consumable product, adding a sense of desirability and urgency and in turn making the brand bigger than the product itself. The coffee roasters collaborated with eight of Australia’s best designers to create uber-stylish, limited edition coffee cups: the 'Fashion Series'. The designers included Bec & Bridge, Camilla & Marc, Dion Lee, Ellery, Josh Goot, Romance Was Born, Toni Maticevski and We Are Handsome, who featured seasonal prints from each of their summer collections. The designers created works of art on a much smaller and more 'disposable' scale than they're used to and brought their brands to the everyday consumer, not just their fashion-forward customers. Meantime, Vittoria aligned itself with the nation's best fashion designers. A win-win for both brands wouldn't you say?

It's not hard to tell that Camilla first found inspiration in theatre, designing flamboyant costumes for the colourful characters of the stage, with her most recent collections as bold and eye-catching as ever.Camilla opened her first boutique in 2004 at Bondi Beach - a fitting place for her bold kaftans that marked a pioneering moment for resortwear in Australia and globally.CAMILLA always showcases exuberant colours and prints, precious silk fabrications, and detailed crystal embellishments. Now, the brand has launched into home furnishings including these exquisite cushion covers inspired by Camilla's globe-trotting, particularly Mexico.
