A Tour of Gwyneth Paltrow's Stunning Brentwood L.A. Residence

August 10, 2024

Gwyneth Paltrow purchased this L.A. home back in 2012 with her then-husband Chris Martin for 9,950,000 USD. Now, she’s selling this single-floor home for a whopping 29.9 million USD. The decision to sell this L.A. home comes at the heels of her youngest child graduating high school and moving off to college.

The Goop founder is known for her mindful approach to life which has resulted in her holistic and clean approach to wellness. Her lifestyle brand has a cult following for its expert curation of luxury goods so it comes as no surprise to see that Paltrow’s expertise in curating tasteful pieces on her website, reflects in her home.

Join me on a virtual tour as we go over the thoughtfully curated design elements of this 12,761-square-foot home in Brentwood, L.A.

The Exterior

This ranch-style home was built in the 1950s and despite the multiple renovations it has undergone, the original structure and design still remain. This home may just have one floor, but its sprawling grounds will make anyone feel like they’re in the country catching a breeze.

Due to the renovations on this home, it now boasts eight beds, 11 baths, a one-bedroom guesthouse, a game room, a home gym, a movie theatre, a wine cellar, and the list of amenities goes on. It’s clear that no expense was spared to make this home luxurious.

The Interior

The interior features elegant crown mouldings and checkerboard floorings. Paired with the white walls, metallic accents, and grey furniture, the home looks straight out of a Goop catalogue.

Despite the clean and airy approach to this house, Paltrow still makes sure to add a touch of opulence and natural beauty by placing a vase of purple orchids atop the cabinet. Their vibrant hue complements the room’s cool tones, creating a striking yet harmonious contrast.

The Kitchen

Paltrow's passion for culinary creation is evident in her kitchen, which features a spacious center island, wood-burning oven, and double ranges.

The centre island also functions as a storage space for the many pots and pans Paltrow needs to whip up a paleo-friendly meal for her and her children. The room looks incredibly clean with its white, black, and grey palette that complements the marble backsplash.

The use of wooden accessories also gives the room an organic touch; a welcome break from the hard stones and smooth metals.

Aside from that, the kitchen features a small dining area perfect for looking out at the landscaped garden or snacking before jumping right into the outdoor plunge pool.

Living Room

The living room’s high ceilings make it look spacious. The French double doors that open to the outside also seem to marry the indoors with the outdoors by allowing Paltrow and her family to enjoy the cool air from their seats inside.

Furnished with comfortable chairs in varying fabrics, the living room looks lived in, while still looking well put together. In this room, the vibrant flowers on the table add a touch of colour to the room.

With its harmonious blend of luxury and comfort, this Brentwood home offers an exceptional lifestyle experience. Are you ready to embrace the Goop-inspired aesthetic?
