May 1, 2025

Having had the wonderful opportunity to explore Marrakech and other captivating parts of Morocco, I can wholeheartedly agree that anyone who’s ever been to Marrakech (or who has even seen it in pictures) can attest to the fact that the city is a feast for the senses. With its rich history, vibrant colours, and intricate craftsmanship, the city has long been a source of inspiration for designers and enthusiasts alike. From Jacques Majorelle to Yves Saint Laurent, Marrakech is teeming with inspiration.

In this article, we go through what Marrakech has to offer to design lovers. There’s a world of endless discoveries awaiting those willing to brave Marrakech.

Architecture & Interiors

From grand riads with intricate zellige tilework to sleek, modern spaces infused with traditional elements, Marrakech’s architectural landscape is as diverse as the dyes you’ll see in its markets.

For high-quality pottery, make sure to add Chabi Chic to your itinerary. This shop – dubbed the Home of Moroccan Craftsmanship – is known for its modern take on traditional Moroccan ceramics.

Gardens & Outdoor Spaces

Marrakech’s gardens and outdoor spaces are as inspiring as its interiors. The intricate Moroccan architecture, with its ornate arches and terracotta tones, created an atmosphere of timeless elegance. Surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant potted plants, the rooftop terraces offered breathtaking views and a peaceful retreat under the North African sun.

Bringing a Piece of Marrakech Home

Of course, no vacation is complete without taking a piece of the place home. When it comes to Marrakech, there’s no better way to bring its magic home with you than with a hand-knotted Beni Ourain rug, a set of hand-painted ceramics, a traditional brass lantern, or even a Moroccan pouf. These pieces are enough to infuse your space with the city’s warmth and craftsmanship – a reminder of the beauty you discovered in Morocco.
